Spring Expectations |
|
I think Cornwall is at its best in these spring weeks, all is quiet but there is a sense of excitement in the air with the Easter holidays and the longer, warmer days. We returned from Sweden last night, after a busy three days visiting the Nibe/Contura factory. I say factory but i should really say Nibe village. The whole town is made up of various Nibe units, the warehouse, the laboratories, the production line, let alone their actual showroom and integrated bar/restaurant. It was very impressive and we had the first showing of their new designs for this year the 700 and 800 series. The 700 nominal 5kw output, we now have in the showroom, with aluminium clad sides and the 800 series will be ready for shipping in June. Like all Contura stoves they have the cast doors and steel bodies and the sides and tops you can choose for your preferred body to finish. Check out the designs on our website. Frankfurt was a more challenging weekend. The ISH show was amazing, we arrived with the rest of Europe all squeezing through the barriers, clutching bags fresh from the airport shuttle bus. The place was endless, thirteen huge halls each one with a further three layers crammed with information and technology, I needed a lie down by 1pm! But help was on the way with Häagen dazs ice cream (toffee pecan) Nice! We headed for hall 10, stoves and pellet burners. We were greeted by Michael from Lohberger and spent the afternoon going through the new cooker model, the Cook Me, a stove with a ceramic cook top, sleek lines and a very contemporary feel. We should have one in our showroom just after Easter. We have qualified for the Jotul/Scan trip to Oslo and Copenhagen in May. The trip is for the top 25 dealers in the UK and we are usually in the top 10. Simon has also been personally invited over to Paris in early May by Nick Sloan the Jotul Manager to discuss some new ideas in the industry, so everything is gearing up to a positive and fresh season.
